Social days and Working parties.

In the Spring season we hold a social event at the lakes where club members can meet and enjoy a morning fishing and a convivial get together. Members are welcome to bring along guests who can experience fishing our waters. There is a light hearted fishing competition during the morning with a prize for the largest fish caught by a member and also a guest. The club has a large Marquee which is set up by the lakes where an excellent buffet lunch and refreshments are served. Members and their guest can carry on fishing after lunch if their days limit has not been reached.

During the year we hold several working parties, these are organised to cut back excessive shrub and weed growth along the lake margins and carry out general fishery maintenance. Members are encouraged to join in with these tasks which enhances the fishing experience for all.

The success of the club relies on all members being involved in social events and working parties. As a club we observe the highest standards associated with fly fishing, paying special attention to the handling of the fish stock when fishing catch and release. The use of rubberised landing nets is encouraged.

The Lakes form part of the Penshurst Estate and we are therefore at liberty to observe the high standards demanded by them when on the Estate grounds.
