Open Day – Spring 2019
The Open Day on Saturday 13th April appears to have been a great success, although the numbers attending were a little disappointing. As usual our committee had everything organised, the Marquee was set up in the field overlooking lake one which gave us a great outlook.
As we gathered for the 9:30 start, tea & coffee were available to awaken the senses. Peter Bentley explained the peg system to us with great clarity. This method of sharing out the fishing spots on both lakes gave everyone a chance to fish different areas during the morning. Well done Peter for his organisation and patience.
The weather was kind to us on the day with broken sunshine and light winds during the morning. With figures taken from the catch log, member and guests caught a total of 45 fish which is an average catch of 1.88 fish per rod.
The prize of heaviest fish for a guest went to Lee Plummer with a 3.5lb Rainbow. Syndicate member catching the heaviest fish was Keith Riddell with another 3.5lb Rainbow. Both winners were presented with a bottle of Champagne by our Chairman.
Once again Verena presented us with a tasty lunch and we thanked her for all her hard work, the meal was complemented with an excellent selection of wines, beer and soft drinks.
We finished off the day with a raffle, a big thank you to the sponsors for the generosity of prizes. To the winners enjoy your prizes, those who didn’t win better luck next time. The raffle raised a total of £375.00 for club funds.
