What a great time to be around Penshurst Park lakes. The fresh green of the trees the wild flowers and the yellow Irises and water lilies, not to mention the abundance hatching flies and Insects. Judging by the the returns I have received this month, members using natural pattens appear to have had the most success.
Lake two has remained favourite for June although several members have persevered fishing lake one and had some success.
The water level in lake one has been falling over recent weeks partly due to the lack of rain, but not helped by the leaking overflow which is in need of repair. I understand talks between the Club’s committee and Penshurst Estate are ongoing concerning the necessary repairs.
The booking system appears to be working well, should any member experience problems making a booking please don’t hesitate to contact me. Don’t forget to email me your catch report even if its a blank, if you do catch please include approximate weight and condition of the fish and flies used.
Fly tying kit
If there are any members out there who tie their own flies or would like to have a try at the fine art of tying, a new member, Len Harvey has a kit which belonged to his friend who sadly passed away. Len is looking for a good home for the kit. If you are interested please contact me via email. wolfe.a@penshurstflyfishing.co.uk
News and Reports will be taking a summer recess but will return in September. Hopefully we will be able to report news of the October social event which of course will be subject to Government recommendations and guidelines.
Tight lines, Alan Wolfe.
The fly tying kit went to Peter Bentley, thanks for your charity donation.
