It appears to be a recurring story over the last few months, rain, rain and more rain. On the plus side both lakes are full to the brim. The down side regarding lake one is the water clarity which is very murky. I’m told talks are scheduled to take place with the Penshurst Estate management early in January to see what can be done. There are plenty of Trout in the lake so I do hope a solution to the problem can be found. It’s worth noting we are not alone with the problems of murky flood water,  flood warnings have been reported around the country at the moment and I noticed another local fishery had a similar problem due to flood water.

During December both lakes were stocked with average 2lb Rainbow trout, this is slightly smaller fish than is normally stocked. Its hoped the smaller fish will be easier to return regarding catch and release, and offer some variation on the size of fish that can be caught. Initial reports from members made during catch returns has been positive, most saying the fish offer good sport. If members have any suggestions regarding fish stock types and sizing please email me or a member of the committee. The largest fish caught during December was a 4lb 2oz Rainbow caught by member Devin.

During the latter part of 2020 we had record number of membership applications via the Internet. In response the committee took a decision to extended our membership to 55, this still leaves us with plenty of space on the banks.  At the time of writing the waiting list has 9 potential members in waiting.  A reminder to all current members, the Penshurst Park Fishery membership year end is 31st January 2021. If you intend to renew your membership for the 2021 season please make sure you let Peter B know as soon as possible of your intentions.

A call for assistance with our round club logo, the only copy we have is very low resolution which restricts its use. Are you able to help us update the logo in a higher resolution? Any help or assistance would be much appreciated, email me on > wolfe.a@penshurstflyfishing.co.uk

Tight lines and Happy New Year,

Alan.
